OUTSTANDING。 This series will always help guide my faith in humanity。 I will never forget Tyler and at 70 years old I will always feel honored for knowing this great human character。
Joe Postingg,
Terrible end to an otherwise great book series。 It felt like Allan copy and pasted chapters just to pad the length。 The signature space combat he writes so well is mostly MIA。 The tone of grim resolve as the hero prosecutes a genocide is also deeply unsettling。
Matthew,
Final destinyIt has been a long road but we have reached the end。 I can say I have enjoyed this series。 However I do not agree with this ending。 The author stated that the first empire fell due to immobility and no conflict。 To just go right back to the same solution as before I think would not be a good idea。 There is also the problem of having the deus ex machina people save the day。 I just wished that they had been truly alien and not just human experiments。 I also don't think its a good idea Final destinyIt has been a long road but we have reached the end。 I can say I have enjoyed this series。 However I do not agree with this ending。 The author stated that the first empire fell due to immobility and no conflict。 To just go right back to the same solution as before I think would not be a good idea。 There is also the problem of having the deus ex machina people save the day。 I just wished that they had been truly alien and not just human experiments。 I also don't think its a good idea to leave a military in charge of government。 We have seen this in real life history and it doesn't go well。 Overall this series has been a great journey and I hope others might love it as I have。 。。。more

Worth reading just to finish the series。 Ending is good。 Found myself skipping massive sections of repeated internal thought of the characters (which I did in previous books but much more in this one)Shame could have been epic。 Saw some reviewers didn’t like/understand the name we finally got for enemy of the highborn, I thought it was apt and cool。 Though it did remind me of the foundation series。Overall if you are invested in finishing the series just skip it and assume they won somehow, which Worth reading just to finish the series。 Ending is good。 Found myself skipping massive sections of repeated internal thought of the characters (which I did in previous books but much more in this one)Shame could have been epic。 Saw some reviewers didn’t like/understand the name we finally got for enemy of the highborn, I thought it was apt and cool。 Though it did remind me of the foundation series。Overall if you are invested in finishing the series just skip it and assume they won somehow, which we all knew they would。 。。。more

Epic ConclusionThis final book was a really good way of tying in everything and was very well done。 Jay Allan has been my favorite author over the years in the sci fi military opera genre。 I’m very pleased with this book and the series will definitely have me reading it all over again。
Dkeith357,
Another really good book from Jay Allan。 This one tells the finale for the series。 I do not envy the author the difficulties of tying so many perspectives together for the conclusion of such a long running series。 I can’t wait to see what is next for the author。
Joe Day,
DisappointedWaited a long time for the finale but was very disappointed。 Overall I enjoyed it but it was extremely redundant。 The same thoughts were repeated over and over。 I found myself skipping large portions because I knew I wouldn't miss anything。 Not sure if the author just couldn't come up with enough new thoughts and felt obligated to make it longer。 The book could have been at least 50% smaller by removing the redundancy。 As a whole, I loved the entire series。 DisappointedWaited a long time for the finale but was very disappointed。 Overall I enjoyed it but it was extremely redundant。 The same thoughts were repeated over and over。 I found myself skipping large portions because I knew I wouldn't miss anything。 Not sure if the author just couldn't come up with enough new thoughts and felt obligated to make it longer。 The book could have been at least 50% smaller by removing the redundancy。 As a whole, I loved the entire series。 。。。more

Peter Simpson,
Sorry this was the worst written book of the series。 I have never read a book that repeated itself as often。Whole sentences verbatim sometimes in the next paragraph, sometimes even repeated by other characters in a different ship。I would think the final in the series could have been written in 25% less words。 What was the editor thinking。I hope Jay takes a look at this review and has a serious talk with his editor because this book should never have come out as it has。
Steven B。 Starks,
Dismally repetitive Although I did read the entire series, this last one was a chore。 There were many passages that were repeating what was already said in a previous passage, it became a drag。 I did give the earlier books higher marks, but this last one just didn’t cut it。 Hopefully the next series will have more variety in the writing as I am fan of the author in general。
Timothy Faught,
Great final book in the seriesThis book being number 18 in the series has to be one of the best。 Tyler Barron was truly great leader and inspiring character。 Just to bad the series is over。
Rick Woollett,

Fantastic jobVery interesting, full of adventure will keep you mesmerize throughout the 18 books。 I read them 。 excellent job。 Thank you?
Janetta Bitting,
Exciting And A Great Ending If you enjoy military science fiction, I hearty recommend this series。 Tyler Barron is a military leader almost without equal。 Jake Stockton is the best fighter pilot。 That is only 2 of the heroes who fight the Highborn。 I am almost sorry that the series is over。 It's hard to be happy with the next read after this。 Exciting And A Great Ending If you enjoy military science fiction, I hearty recommend this series。 Tyler Barron is a military leader almost without equal。 Jake Stockton is the best fighter pilot。 That is only 2 of the heroes who fight the Highborn。 I am almost sorry that the series is over。 It's hard to be happy with the next read after this。 。。。more

Empire RebornTyler Barron leads the fleet for the last battle with the Highborn。 This one is for all the marbles。 Either he will be victorious or humanity will fall under the heels of the enemy。 Will the enemy of his enemy show up and help defeat the Highborn?
Bob Miller,
Finally the end?I loved The series but book 18 felt rushed and repetitive。 I wish more time was spent on the mules and how they came about。 I guess that would make a great series in its own。
Ben Van Kurin,
Wonderful I so enjoyed the entire series! Kind of sad that it ended 。 But it ended with a wonderful ending!

GreatAn epic series with many different scenarios and plots 。It holds your attention though out。Good job。Thanks for the read
Trudi,
The endIt's so hard to believe we are at book 18! Not too many series have the plots to go thst far and keep your interest。 Tyler, Andy, Atara, Jake, Reg and their friends are still fighting the Highborn and while they are making them pay in blood for every battle they lose they are taking on 35-1 odds it's not an attrition rate they can keep up。 In the previous book they found the virus they hoped would take the Highborn down but they don't know if its working。 Even if it does will it be fas The endIt's so hard to believe we are at book 18! We also meet Achilles。 I don't remember him from the other books but I could have forgotten him, he brings more interest into the mix。The only thing I didn't like in the book was a lot of things were repeated sometimes several times as to previous events or thoughts。 So much so that I actually wondered if I had hit back in the book by mistake。 All in all it is a satisfactory end to a great series。 。。。more
Danny Bernier,
I loved the series and it was great to finish the story。 However the book was far from perfect。 I think the author was struggling to meet his word count as there was ALOT of repetitive dialogue and information。 I did not love the book and skimmed huge portions of it to just get the story and have it wrapped up。 I did love most of the other books in this series so this is not indicative of his writing style
fannie nall,

A good conclusionOverall, I enjoyed this book。 It was a good conclusion, tied things up, and didn't just repeat too much of what had happened in the previous 17 books, though a chunk definitely was。I was definitely happy with the ending, though there was a bit of a big red button feel to it。However, a better editor or set of proof-readers is sorely needed。 Getting the names of the groups confused again, typos, plot inaccuracies, and a raft of content errors were distracting and kept pulling me o A good conclusionOverall, I enjoyed this book。 It was a good conclusion, tied things up, and didn't just repeat too much of what had happened in the previous 17 books, though a chunk definitely was。I was definitely happy with the ending, though there was a bit of a big red button feel to it。However, a better editor or set of proof-readers is sorely needed。 Getting the names of the groups confused again, typos, plot inaccuracies, and a raft of content errors were distracting and kept pulling me out of the flow of the book, as did the substantial number of times where something that had been stated often only a couple of pages prior was repeated。 It felt like padding, and was unnecessary at best, annoying and disruptive at worst。 。。。more

James Old,
If you are early in this series, just stop。 It is not worth finishing。 Some of the early books are kind of fun in a mindless way, but as I read more the quality just kept getting worse。 I got far enough in that I wanted to finish the series, but now I can't believe I wasted my time on this。 This last book is nearly unreadable。 It is filled with page after page of completely obvious internal dialogue that is repeated over and over and over。 (Was someone trying to hit a minimum word count?) And the politics of this series have always disturbed me somewhat。 Some of the early books expressed anti-democratic sentiments, which I wrote off as just standard political disillusionment。 But this last book? Wow! Let's just say that if your approach to solving democracy's problems involves genocide and military coups, then this is the book for you。 。。。more

I was expecting a better reading experience after enjoying the previous installments a lot more。I found Empire Reborn somewhat repetitive and contrived。Having said that, I look forward to new series by Jay, maybe next one does not stretch over 18 books。

Mind numbing repetitiveI only read the last book of this series and if was extremely difficult to finish it。 The repeativeness is simply ridiculous。
